DYOT

I have some news for you kids. I am not heading back for CNY. It is now confirmed. Kind of disapointing I must admit, since I was looking forward to spending CNY after about 3 years of not spending it. Plus seeing family and friends that I haven't heard from since two summers ago. The big issue is that my boss would not let me off for longer than a week. Apparently we are in the midst of some important stuff at work so I can go. Tentative date for next time I am heading back is August.

Untitled

Please read this. It is an article about the recent NEP/Malay equity issue. The paper is an Australian newspaper as far as I can tell. I can definately attest to how many people over here can't point out Malaysia on a map or say its capital but the rest you probably have to judge for yourselves.

On a more light hearted note, I have included 3 new dj's to my must see list. Eddie Halliwell, Sander Van Doorn and Marcel Woods. Check them out when you get a chance.

Dare you guys to try to repeat what these guys did

Earning Respect 102

Part two of earning respect. See part one here. Earning respect is easier than you think. Just follow these 10 new 'rules'. I learn it the hard way so you don't have to.

  1. Use your hands not you mouth.
  2. Know when you walk away and when to run like crazy.
  3. Practise just as hard when nobody is watching.
  4. Realise that growing up and growing old is two different things.
  5. Realise that earning ten thousand dollar is easy, but saving ten thousand dollars is hard as hell.
  6. Pick your fights
  7. Don't be a risk. Be Borderline.
  8. Don't work till you get it right, work till you can't get it wrong
  9. Always show up early so the one time you need to be late, your boss would be okay with it.
  10. No matter how excited you are about something. There will be somebody that doesn't care.

Malaysia Boleh?

Been reading Lim Kit Siang's blog this past couple of days and I must admit it is quite depressing especially after being away from home for the most part of the past four years. What makes me feel further apart from what is happening in Malaysia these days is that I feel like I am spending the 'prime' years of my life here rather than there.

While I was in Malaysia, I alway had the feeling that things aren't that bad and things will get better. I think being overseas made me realise just how bad is was and how bad is can get. Now I wonder if the level of corruption/discrimination/segregation in Malaysia is finally at the point where everything is going to come crashing down. I wonder if one day will all the disharmony and discontent bring Malaysia to the point of Civil War? I know it sound a little extreme but don't all civil war start off by just having some group of people having everything and some group just having to work harder just to get the same treatment? with some group having most and some group have less?

Maybe I am just being paranoid from all the Aliran, Lim Kit Siang, MalaysiaKini that I have read or maybe its time for us to do something about it. As my friends back home, I hope you guys can keep me abreast with the real situation.

Working permit is here.

Yippedee doda! wah wah wee wah! Finally got my working permit couple of days ago. I am not longer an illegal immigrant. Actually, I never was an illegal immigrant but it definately feels better now that I actually know that I get to be here is little while more.

Just a little update for you people who care. If you didn't care its alright too. Its all good i guess.

Classic tune of the month
Planet Funk - Chase The Sun

Just when you thought the week will never end...here comes the weekend.

Wait a sec, the weekend is over. nevermind.

I am not sure what Sharam was thinking when he made this video but the tune is definately good enough to crack dance floors and remove roofs. I know I know, I have been raving about this song since March but its finally officially released. (big delay cause Eddie Murphy didn't want it out). Sharam finally got someone else to sing I guess. Anyway.....two versions of P.A.T.T. below. 1970's Old Eddie version and the new Sharam version.

The results are IN!

DJ Mag recently posted their top 100 DJ's for 2006 poll results. See http://www.djmag.com/top100results_2006 Mr PVD retained his crown for the second year. WHAT A BIG SURPRIZE. Cough cough.....I personally think he is way overrated. AVB is number 2. Wished he should have gotten top notch though, all around bangin dj.

Lots of great DJs on the top half of the list, a few I disagree with. Infested Mushroom is one of them. I don't think they deserved the 12th spot. (I guess all you goa-trance fans would disagree).

Some DJs I would have like to see higher up the chart. Steve Angello, Axwell and Lisa Lashes are all great producer/remixer and DJ.

Anyway, thats my two cents worth. Let me know what you guys thought about the poll. Cheers

Tired Tired Tired

Night shift is taking a toll in my life. Can't eat when I'm suppose to, get hungry when I am not suppose to, can sleep when I want to and can't stay up when I have to. Whoever said switching between nights on your workdays and day schedules during you off-day was easy is probably taking a couple years of his/her life. Sorry for the people that actually think its easy.

From what I am hearing, it is suppose to get easier but apparently I missed the lecture about how it get easier. I'm always TIREDDDddd.

Anyway, enough whining for now. You can always message me if you are dieing for a personal session. Check the classic dance hit.

The Woman of My Dreams

The Woman Of My Dreams

The woman of my dreams isn't fancy,
She walks like us but she is pretty,
She laughs often and her talk is trite,
Yet it fills me up with simple delights.

She is fashionable, she is smart,
She is beautiful in body and heart,
Her face is round in a softened tone,
And she talks forever on the phone.

Her hair is straight no fancy curls,
Her eyes sparkle with specks of pearl,
Thoughts her own in so many ways,
Contrasting moods, nights and days.

Beliefs her own, so different from mine,
Her habits non-sensical, no reason or rhyme,
She smiles in rows of neat white teeth,
Could not stand her for more than a day,
But when leaving I want her so to stay,
You are not perfect but its the seams,
They make you the woman of my dreams.

First week on night

Just completed my first week at nights. I must say its not as bad as it seem but apparently many people are telling me that I don't know what I am getting into yet. We'll see. My day basically involves going to sleep directly after work and getting up about 2-3 pm the next day. Actually....2-3pm the same day.

Nothing else too interesting. Enjoy the tune

The plan didn't work out

The stay up all night plan to prepare for night shift didn't work out i guess. I ended up sleeping at about 4 ish and waking up at 10 am. We'll see how the first shift works out huh?

Awesome tune I just found out about. Sounds a lot like John Mayer, so if you hate him you probably don't like this song either. Check it out.

Night shift and things you never knew you never knew

I official go to night shift beginning tomorrow. Going to stay up all night tonight and sleep tomorrow afternoon. The plan is to catch up on reading, watch a couple of movies, maybe exercise then sleep when the sun comes up. Thats the plan for now at least. Now for fun stuff.

Heres some little know things about penis(es) that you never knew you never knew(might not ever want to know).

  1. Doctor grow skin for burn victim using the foreskins of circumcised infants.
  2. The average male orgasm last 6 seconds. The average woman gets 23 seconds. (What Equality?)
  3. One in 400 men are flexible enough to pleasure himself orally. (But all 400 have tried?)
  4. There are two type of penis(es). The grower starts small but expands and lengthens. The show-er is already big. It just erects.
  5. Surveys have shown 79 percent of men are growers and 21 are show-er.
  6. Research in Spain shows that better looking men have better sperm.
  7. The most common cause of penile rupture: vigorous masturbation.

Hope you had a good laugh and NO I didn't not google penis to get all this info.

Roger Sanchez - Turn On The Music.

There's no combination of words,
I could put on the back of a postcard.
No song I could sing,
But I can try for your heart.
Our dreams, and they are made out of real things,
Like a shoebox of photographs with sepiatone loving.
Love is the answer,
At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? and where do we go?
And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving
I'll tell you one thing its always better when we're together!

Work and School are so alike......

People are always saying how they wish they could go back to school once they started working. I been working about two months and I have to say working is a lot like school. Made a mini list to prove it too.

  1. School/Work always starts way too early for you.
  2. You still have homework that you only start doing the day before you get back to work.
  3. You still have to work 'extra' hours.
  4. You still sleep way too much on your off-days and way too little on your 'work' days.
  5. There will still be people in your group that are lazy and people whom just want to make you look bad.
  6. You still eat instant noodles cause you are too lazy to make anything else.
  7. You still learn stuff hoping that you might need it someday.
  8. You still don't really really know what you are doing.
  9. You still drink coffee to stay awake
  10. You are stop being awake 5 minutes after classes start and wake up 5 minutes after it ends.

Thats all I could think of. I guess the biggest difference it that this time you get to do all those 'fun' stuff and get paid to do it. :)

Video of the day is Tiesto Feat Maxi Jazz - Dance4Life. Its a charity song for the organization Dance4Life. The organization is an anti-AIDS organization. Pretty cool. Their ambassadors include Tiesto and PVD. Might want to check it out. Dance4life.

You leave me broken.

For you dance music fans, Essential Mix got a week special in Ibiza. Go to www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 to hear all the mixes. So we kick, push, kick push........coast

Last day of work for the week. Woohoooo......I think I am finally getting a hang of this shift thing. Oh ya....and my baby is coming this week.

The video is from Lup Fiasco. The title is kick push. The lyrics and video reminds me of the times when I was a kid. Well....mayb not exactly but you need a little imagination. Tell me what you think. Note: A rather hip hopish song.

Heaven holds a sense of wonder,
And I wanted to believe that I'd get caught up,
when the rage in me subsides,
In this white wave, I am sinking, in this silence,
In this white wave, in this silence I believe,
I can't help this longing,
Comfort Me!

Voted Best Moment of Godskitchen's Global Gathering 2006

I wasn't there but I sure wish I was. Last track in Tiesto's set, 15000 people singing Delerium's Silence. Rocking, thats what I say.

Wish I could Erase and Rewind

The weekend is officially ending for me. Gotta wake up early and all that BS tomorrow for 4 days of work. On the consolation, my baby is coming in a few more days. Woohooo......the video is from Cardigans - Erase and Rewind. Let me know what you think about it.

The weekend has started........

Finally, 3 days of rest. arghhh....its been a long week. Actually just three working days but still long enough. I never realise how much dance music I have been listening to until today. I learn that when listening to the new 4 hour live Essential Mix from the global gathering in UK featuring Fatboy Slim, Deep Dish, Tiesto and Ferry Corsten today. I think you have listen to too much when you know the titles of 8 out of 10 song that are being played. Fatboy was great. Deep Dish was kicking, Tiesto who played after Deep Dish started pretty housey and got trancey. Ferry was his usual self. Anyway...forget it. Not important. Check out Fatboy Slim in the video from Rockness in Scotland. New remix of 'Right Here Right Now' I believe. PS: CK: This is HOUSE HOUSE HOUSE HOUSE

If you have to go,
Don't say good bye,
If you have to go,
Don't you cry
If you have to go,
I will get by
I will follow you and see you on the other side.

Crazy day at work......disposition gone bad

Got my first real scare at work today. One of the lots I was handling misprocessed. Had to do a bunch of extra work to fix it and its still not fixed. Darn it.....!

Anyway.... Gnarl Barkley's Crazy is the video for today. I expect it to be all over the airwaves but I think its a pretty sweet tune.Enjoy

I'm awake, You're still sleeping, The sun will rise like yesterday, Everything that we are now, Is everything we can't let go or will be gone forever, far away I hope tomorrow is like today.

This is so disturbing,.....

I was surfing the internet for some interesting stuff to put in here considering that my blog traffic has been rather static. Anyway, I did a quiz on what kind of alcohol person I am. So here is what I got.

You Are Absinthe
You are a borderline alcoholic, purposely so
If drinking doesn't make you feel crazy, it's not any fun
Truth be told, you tend to prefer drugs to drinking
But you'd never pass up any absinthe that came your way!

Its freaky how some part of what the site suggest is kinda true yet other part are what I would consider my worst nightmare. Oh well....what does a website. I'm not so much an absinthe person. I'm more of a Chivas guy!! Pass the Chivas.

Got a new playlist for this week. Sorry for being so random with the posting dates but been rather busy with work. Might be even more sporatic after this.

Baby I know I'm dreaming alone,

You must bring me back where I belong!

Monday, July 24, 2006

I had a dream last night........

Last night I had a dream that I lived in a speaker,
And the sky was the smoked filled room in Ibiza,
The sun was a crystal ball shining 24 hours a day,
My air was the winds of the woofers bouncing off the wall,
My soul was the spirit of all the children dancing,
My rain was the sweat that rolled of their faces,
My lightning was the strobe that filled the room like a tropical storm,
This is my world,
This is my planet,
On my planet bass was my day and kick was my night,
Rhythmatic interludes of percussion were my four seasons,
On my planet I could see constellations of children dancing,
On my planet House is the religion and God is a DJ,
On my planet there is peace,
On my planet there is love,
On my planet there are no wars or rumour of wars,
On my planet there are no drugs or politicians,
This is my world,
This is my planet,
And my planet rocks!

I never meant to be political in my blog posting but I feel strongly that I should go on record and say that 'Israel reaction to the Lebanon issue is out of proportion' and the 'UPM bullying issue is a piece of bullsh*t'. The later issue has particularly hit me in the wrong spot. I am fine with all the 'undercounter' - behind the backboards - 'rules' that are somewhat on the borderline of being racial discrimiation but this is just too much. I don't have all the fact so if you know something I don't please do tell. Anyway, hope to hear more being done to both these issues.

On a better note, great song by Saint Etienne called SideStreet featured below. Cheers

Going back to work tomorrow. Just a little update before that. For all you trance junkies, you should check out the Essential Mix this week. Its featuring the multi-talented Max Graham from Canada. Back to basics

Seems like I have been getting some beef about not playing 'housey' or 'trancey' enough song. I'm sure I will not have complains for the song below. Hope you like it. Its Marcel Wood's Advanced. A little on the outdate side but still getting airwaves. I believe its was the anthem for 2006's Trance Energy in Holland. Let me know what you think. Cheers.

Fitness test

FYI, I got a C for my fitness test at work. I guess I can't pretend to be 'fit' anymore. On to better news, new track below by Hard-Hi. The title is Hard To Beat. Great alternative type song. Its not like the whiny commercial nonsense you get on the radio. The video is a little soft so you might need to turn it up. I particularly like the chorus. PS: You need to click play.

World Cup Round Up: The final four

I must say it is quite interesting to see that the last four nations left in the World Cup are from Europe. The quarterfinals has been interesting and I believe the teams that played better in each match won. I am kind of sad that Argentina lost out to Germany but I don't think they made the right changes towards the end of the game. Considering overall performance, I don't think Italy or France should be in the final four but they did have impressive displays in the quarterfinals. My new pick for the world cup is Germany followed by Portugal but don't rely too much on me since the three teams I picked out (Argentina, Netherlands and Czechs) are all out of the competition.

Earning Respect 101

Earning respect can be simpler than you think, see my top 10 ways below. Let me know which one you liked best or if you disagree with any of it.

  1. Refuse a slut.
  2. Appreciate her body but compliment her wit.
  3. Learn something about other cultures.
  4. Praise in public, critise in private.
  5. Stay sober when no one would blame you for drinking.
  6. Become what you told people you always wanted to be.
  7. When some idiot says "Ugh, you actually like that." Say "YES"
  8. Do the dirty work required. Don't take the short cut
  9. Be multilingual. It could be spanish or the secret language of electric circuits.
  10. Risk being hated for doing the right thing.

Playlist Thursday

Heya and thanks for coming back. Here is this weeks list. Next week I am planning to make a classic playlist. Considering my age, classic would mean anything from the 90s. If you got a good idea for what should be in the list please let me know. I am having trouble figuring that out. To get everybody in the mood, I have included a video after the list. You know the lyrics. Sing along. Cheers

The World Cup Round-Up: Round of 16 Survivors

The world cup is finally getting interesting. Here is the round-up.

Germany

They had a decent game with Sweden. I think the Swedish messed themselves up more than the Germans. Their next game might be the game of the world cup.

Argentina

Hard fought game with Mexico. Not the prettiest football but they got the job done in overtime. Would like to see them beat the Germans.

Italy

Another team that isn't playing great football. They seem to be getting better with Totti coming of the bench. I think Del Piero is definately more effective. Anyway...I see them getting pass Ukraine.

Ukraine

Probably the weakest team technically in the last eight. Don't seem to be able to score and they are depending too much on their all star striker.

England

Englands usual long balls and set pieces seem to be working so far. They might get into the semi cause of all the yellows from the Portugal game. I thought Ecuador should have made it though.

Portugal

In one Portugal - Netherlands game, I think I saw all the possible tactics for time-wasting, hurting opponent, unfriendly behaviour and unsportmenship I need for the whole tournement. Referee was kind of kayu. I think Portugal will have a tough time beating England without Deco and Costinha plus having half their team on yellow cards.

Brazil

A better performance than in their group. Should see them beating France.

France

Probably the luckiest team in this world cup. They should have been eliminated in the group stages and they were lucky to get by Spain. Let see if lady lucky still favors them in the quarterfinals.

Downtempo Day

Just a nice song to wind down at the end of your day. Sarah Mclachlan's World On Fire was number 7 on this week's fire themed playlist. Also after listening to Sander's set again(see yesterday's post). I don't think he deserved to be in the djs i must see yet. So he goes to the other pile of DJ's I don't mind seeing together with Mauro Picotta, Pete Tong and Erick Morillo among them. Enjoy the video! Leave Comments.

Essential Mix: Sander Van Doorn

I know there are quite a few trance fans here. Please go listen to Sander's Essential Mix. Probably the best set I have heard in a while. Best parts probably after the first half hour. Also help if your roommate isn't around and you have the music blasting. It's only available will next Sunday so hurry!

Add on: I have added him to my list of djs to see before I get too old. See sidebar.

One Month Old

This blog is official one month old. wooohooo......I figure that if I can keep this up for a month then I can probably keep this up for a little while more. Special thanks to all the people thats been visiting the site regularly. You guys keep me going. I would also like to thank God, my parents .......zzzz.

Now that I am done with the 'award' speech, I have a cool video below. The video is for all the people that are going through a long distance relationship. If you don't already know the lyrics, you should get it. Cheers

1 tune 3 singers

The tune is tainted love. I got three versions of it below. The first is from the Pussy Cat Dolls. Its live from some event. Their song is kicked off by the leading singer of Soft Cell (see below). The second is from Marilyn Manson. Awesome video. Look out for the nerd to goth chick transformation, it show what a little make over can do. Also Twiggy on the decks. The last one is by Soft Cell. Old school synth stuff. Let me know which one you like the best. If you need to ask which one I like the best, you probably don't know me. By the way, this song probably has over a dozen other version but this is the only three I found on youtube.

The World Cup Round Up: Group Stages

Here is my 2-cent on what happened so far in the world cup and how things will pan out in the 2nd stage.

Group A

No surprise that Germany is having a good time in the group although I don't think they are playing as well as they can. Should get better since Ballack is back in the middle. Ecuador: I think they will give England a good showing in the next round. They held up quite well till they faced Germany.

Group B

One of the most boring groups. All the matches played in this group were boring to say the least. England without Owen and Rooney coming back from injury. I think they will have a tough time with Ecuador (see above too). I would have liked Sweden to be on top of this group but I think they will crash and burn against Germany next.

Group C

My fav team Argentina seems to be on a roll. The Saviola-Crespo combination is working out fine and the team is clicking. Look out for them. My prediction Argentina 3 - Mexico 0. Netherlands hasn't been playing to what I expected them to but I expected them to get by Portugal next.

Group D

Portugal got their job done in their group but I think they will head home after the game against Netherlands. Mexico doesn't have much change against Argentina as well. Nice to see that Iran has the same record as the 'great' USA in soccer. hahha

Group E

Probably the most interesting group with all the hype for the US team here. I am happy to say they lived up to my expectation of sucking. As usual all the commentary going on ESPN is about how the referees in the world cup are bad for sending their players off and giving the opponents penalties. All I have to say to the American are 'Can you try to lose gracefully for a change?' I am sad to see the Czechs leave. I would have prefers them to join Ghana in the next round but Italy will be fine. I am calling a Ghana upset over the samba boys. Any takers?

Group F

No surprise that Brazil breezed through their group. Their first two games were crap but their last game was quite interesting. I would have liked to see Japan in the next round but I guess we have to see the Aussie play one more game.

Group G

I think all the teams from this group doesn't deserve to be in the next round. All of them played poor football. I must say the teams in Group H will go through in the next match

Group H

Spain is doing well but they have bad luck in the World Cup so I have reserving further comments. Ukraine will probably beat the Swiss and have a nice showdown with the Italian.

Note to self: There are too many groups.

Especially for you.......my good friends

I got a link for all my desperate and lonely guy-friends. Yes I mean you. Don't be shy. Just click it. You can thank me later and remember to clean up your drool. And I promise its not porn so you can click the link even if you are in your office 'working'. Hottest Blogger is basically a site that collects all the bloggers which they classify as hot in one site. Most of the people are from the Singapore-Malaysia region.

If you are wondering why I would know a link like this, it is NOT because I am a perverted boy preying for innocent underaged victims in the internet. Its because I am bored and looking for some good 'reading' material. Wait a minute......that didn't come out right. Hmmm.....think what you want to think!

Fire themed playlist

The past week was probably the slowest week I can remember. If it wasn't for all the world cup matches, I would probably have grown moldy. Anyway, last week I mentioned that I would put up a fire themed playlist so here it is. I couldn't find enough songs I like with fire in the title so I went ahead and included fire-like stuff like sparks, flames and infernos. Also burning seems to fit into the theme. The odd ball in the list is probably Snoop-Dogg's - Drop it like its hot. Some songs that nearly made the list were Tiesto's Sparkles and Nelly's Hot In Here.

Anyway, I think these songs are worth checking out. Ferry Corsten Video is in the last post. I will put up a few more this week. Cheers

Five tracks to convert you

Five classic tune to make anyone like dance music. Nothing particularly bassy. Mostly for listening rather than dancing. I think you should listen to them in order. If you don't like these songs then what's wrong with you?

First track, ATB - Don't want to stop. Lots of vocal for people that can't stand instrumentals.

Second track, Nightcrawlers - Push The Feeling On. Has a disco-like tune to it, will get your head bobbing in no time.

Third track, Ferry Corsten - Fire. Vocal by Simon LeBon from Duran Duran. Fairly new tune. Also learn what to do when you find a girl stuck in ice here.

Fourth track, Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes.

Last track, Armin Van Buuren - Burned With Desire. Probably the song that made me listen to dance music.

Let me know what you think of these track either on the comments or on the chat box. Also, GZL can go to hell.

What A Beautiful Smile...........

Just a video from the number 10 song this week. Beautiful Love by The Afters. They sound kind of like the Calling. Nothing really special about the video but definately a good tune. Cheers

Found Another Beat....There's no time for sleep

Like I said in the last post, I am going alternative for a few days. This video is from a band called The Sounds from Sweden. Awesome old-school alternative song called Rock N Roll. (Think Gwen Stefani in No Doubt's Voice, Courtney Love's style before she went to hell and rhythm from Letters to Cleo and you have the Sounds). This is the best video I could find. Its from a Live concert somewhere. I think its kinda cool that the crowd sings along. You can get a better quality track from their website.

You're so beautiful,
With an edge and charm,
But so careful,
When I'm in your arms.

The Sounds

This weeks tracks shown below. A little more of a alternative sound this week just cause I am a little sick of listening to dance music for a while. I removed the label column cause basically nobody cares. I am planning to make a fire themed playlist next week so if you have any suggestion for songs please let me know.

Ole Ole Ole Part 2

This past week, the only thing I have heard on TV was how good the US men's football team are the best team they had in over a decade. I heard how the US are going to give the Czechs a run for their money. How Beasley, Donovan and McBride are the best player in the US and in the world blah blah blah. How this year the US will go far in the world cup and shock everybody blah blah blah. I guess the impact of the media was greater than I thought. I figured I would have a good game to watch so I sat down at 11.55 to watch Czech VS US. Guess what happened?

To make a long long story short, the US performance was abysmal. The passing was not crisp at all. They looked like a bunch of little kids trying to play football with a bunch of pros. In fact, prior to the game ESPN commentators predicted an upset of the world number 2. Hahahha. The Czechs on the other hand, were sharp, technical and basically great players.

In conclusion, the US team is still the a long long way from the rest of the world. Maybe they shouldn't hype up their team so much.

On a high

Look at me, I'm on a high, Number 39. Just want to say thanks for all the 40-odd site visits yesterday. It put me in the top 50 for Malaysia's Top Blogs heheh. Thanks again. Email me at reviewer@chiaxiang.com or just leave a comment.

I'm Back!

Hello everybody! I finally got internet in my new place. If you didn't realize it, I was away for about a week but now I am back. Back again. Since I had a week of free time, I have accumulated quite a bit of stuff so this post is expected to be longer than usual.

Just Drums and Bass

If you didn't already realize, Sex, Drugs, Drums and Bass is now just Drums and Bass. A couple of my friends highlighted that if you google my name the first couple of words that appear is sex and drugs so that is probably not a good thing for a new college graduate so for now its just Drums and Bass.

Shout out

I am beginning a new chapter in my life and would like to make a shout out to the people that help me out along the way and made college life a little more bearable.

  1. MG (The veteran) - The glue that keep the father milk drinkers gang together. Without you we would just be regular milk drinkers.
  2. Sean (Andy Lau) Wong - Definately the late bloomer in the group but also the most energized when it comes to partying. Has a great blog (SeansZOne). Check on his post titled Save The Last Day, Bub-bye and Bryanboy loves Purdue.
  3. Kain (Professor Lu) Lu - Another late bloomer, sorry for the bad influence. Hope you get your PhD.
  4. James (The Mexicano) - JAMES!!....What else can I say? PARTY ALL THE TIME!! Pass the Chivas!
  5. Kwan (Porn Actress Consultant, Cook, Kwan is Gay President) - His nicknames tells it all.
  6. Ivan (Father Milker Drinker) - Thanks for all the car advise.
  7. Anna (Don't have a good nickname for you) - Thanks for all the good times.
  8. The boys from Meta Eta Canna.
  9. Last but not least, my baby Su Chuen. College would not be the same without you.

Thanks again to everyone. Hope to see you all soon. I will be back. Look out tomorrow for a new post. If I missed your name, just bitch about it in the comments okay? Cheers

Take A Holiday

Guess who's back? I somehow manage to will myself to put up a meaningful post today. Not exactly more meaningful for a particular individual but at least I has some content (unless yesterday). Anyway, just go read this great post from Mr Sean Wong and look out for the rude kid giving the finger in the second picture. He appears elsewhere too.

Mainstream song of the week's video is below. Nelly Furtado's Maneater. I predict the radio station will be playing this for weeks ahead unless they are already doing that in your part of the world.

Baby, Don't Look So Sad,
If It Doesn't Go Your Way,

HEY.......ITS OKAYY!

Just a short post

Today is by far the most boring/mindnumbing day in my life. I don't intent to bore you with the details, just wanted to keep up my 'good work' of one post per day so far. Have good one!

Another Day Another Post

Number 10 from this week's playlist is the latest single from Chicane called Stoned In Love. Has all the ingredients to be that song you know but never knew the title or singer. Classic vocals from Tom Jones, driving beats and synths. Song is about a couple which has been together for long but they are not longer 'stoned in love'. Video is pretty cool too. There's this girl in there that look like Tera Patrick. If any of you can confirm this, it would be great.

Say "Ole Ole Ole"

If You Live For The Game,

It Runs In Your Veins,

Say "OLE OLE OLE!"

One of my favourite season is upon us soon. Yes you said it WORLD CUP 2006. In about a week (8 days to be precise but who is really counting), Germany will kick off against Costa Rica.

Teams your neighbour's grandmother might support but you don't want to cause you want to be different.

1. Brazil - Obvious choice. Many Many big names, flashy players and the best record in the tournament. Also the last time I checked they were still the number one ranked team in the world.
2. England - Everybody is an England fan. Again, big names from the premier league. Metrosexual playeres and maybe because we are commonwealth.
3. France - Probably because of Henry. France has a good frontline but I don't see them going far. People are already too careful with them.

Teams to look out for

1. Netherlands - All round good team. Easy group stage but I don't see them making it pass the semis. They might prove me wrong. This is probably the best dutch team since the Total Football Years.
2. Portugal - Pretty good showing in the euro cup two years ago. Might reach the semis in my opinion.
3. Czech Republic

My team - Argentina: Firstly, they have a decent group. They only have to worry about Netherlands. Ivory Coast and Serbia & Montenegro should be easy. They have a decent back four, good midfielders and a balanced attack. They should go far. I hope at least.

Look out for the new playlist tomorrow. In the meantime, mail me at reviewer@chiaxiang.com or just leave a comment here. Cheers

Another Tune

Number 7 from last week's list Bob Sinclair Ft Steve Edwards - World Hold On (Children Of The Sky). Good soulful dance tune with more vocals that your typically trance song. The song about the world being at the brink of a meteor hit or other disaster and the singer asking people to hold on basically. The video is pretty funny too. This little kid is building a spaceship to save the earth. (Look out for the explosive basketballs).

Women are complicated

I am going off on a tangent today to help my fellow man. As we men know women/girls/ladies are complicated creatures, therefore I have found several video guides that will help you 'decode' them. You guys can thank me later after you guys score.

The first video will tell you when 'yes' means yes,no,maybe, yes but you own me or yes definitely yes. MEN: note that this 'yes' is different from the regular 'yes' that you are used to which can only mean yes. This is especially useful when asking a girl if she can give you her number. If you ready have numbers to call skip to video 2. Yes Means What? (Watch this first).

The second video is how to call a girl you met. Sounds simple? Hmmm......things you never knew you never knew Calling Women.

After you ace the call, you need to figure out what turns her on during your date/outing/movie etc. So here it is Women's Secret Turn Ons.

After you ace the date and she is now your new girlfriend/lover/sex partner/spouse, you will need to master the art of dodging loaded questions. This is an essential skill.(ask any guy that has a girlfriend). Question like "Do you think she is pretty?" or "How many ex-girlfriend did you have before me?".Answering loaded questions.(Note: This skill takes years to master. Look at your dad!)

One last thing, women are complicated being therefore their behavior cannot be grouped, categorized or generalized. There will be many many exceptions when using the video guides. I am not responsible if what you took from these videos backfires on your ass. Use at own risk.

There's Nothing More That I Want
Than To Touch You
To Seek Truth In Your Eyes
The Only Thing That I Want Is To Be With You
And Watch The Sunrise :)

Music, Blogs and Me

On Music

I have been getting a couple of comments from people I know about this blog. Apparently people want to know why I would be 'qualified' to have a list of my song I like for the world to see. Well I fully admit I am neither an artist, a producer not an expert. For that matter, I don't even have a radio in the house unless you consider internet radio. However music has always been one of my main interest, people I know (more like people who knows me) can probably attest to that. I used to listen to a lot of new, independent stuff but the power of commercialism has gotten to me and these days I find myself bobbing my head to mainstream songs like Rihanna's S.O.S. Nevertheless, I don't claim for any of these songs to be hits, future hits or past hits of any kind. All I ask is that you listen to the whole tune (if you care) before saying how big a bag of crap it sounds like. Sweet?

On Blogs

JJones: I figured you are probably a random reader but I thought I would respond just in case you came back. I don't mean any disrespect for any other bloggers out there. I am all on board for bloggers who would like to write about their lastest mink fur coats and LV handbags. In fact if they would like to tell me how their last boyfriend was actually their bestfriend's girlfriend's mom's son or how their last girlfriend has 3 nipples, that would be so great. I would be soooooooo interested to know.

I have only been reading blogs for about 2 weeks. Yes, I am a newbie but as far as I am concerned, there are only 3 types of blogs worth looking at:

  • Blogs of people I know and care about.
  • Blogs of people whom creates a buzz, controversy or just plan rocks. (See Bryanboy).
  • Blogs belonging to hot girls with lots of pictures of themselves and their hot friends.
  • Seem like this post is long enough for now. You probably know the 'me' part as you read more next time. As always, I appreciate comments at reviewer@chiaxiang.com

If there's a God, I Bet He Is Really Funny

    Darnn it....

Yesterday I made a big deal about not listing boybands on my weekly list. Hmmm....seem like some heavenly being is trying to be funny cause today as I was going through my music collection I found this really great tune by BT (Brian Transeau) called Force Of Gravity. Unfortunately the vocal we done by one JC Chasez (Justin's Bitch Dog from N'Sync. For those of you who didn't know who he was.GOOD FOR YOU). Therefore as a matter of principle, I am going to leave it out from next week's list.

This is my third day with the blog and I am already running out of steam so if you have something nice to say. Please leave a comment or email me at reviewer@chiaxiang.com.

    I already know

Yes I already know how pathetic it is to have two blog entries in one day but I am THAT bored. If you didn't already know, I am waiting on my job to begin so in the meantime I am sitting around banging balls. Which led to the start of this blog in the first place.

Anyway..the video below is actually No. 5 of yesterday's list. I figured nobody will care enough or be 'free' to actually hunt for the song so I thought I will post some here.

In my opinion, this is a great tune. Decent bassline, good build ups and memorable vocals. Plus the video has cute guys for the ladies. All video already have sexy girls these days so I won't bother even making a point on that.

The line will not be crossed

I appreciate the TWO people that actually send me titles of songs to look at. However there a couple of things i would like to add. Firstly when I decided to make this site, I told myself that I would try my best to include some mainstream song in my list every week for the more commercial listeners. Having said that, there is this line which I will not ever cross. That line is this.

    THERE WILL BE NO BOY-BANDS

Yes Zhong Lin, I know this will disappoint you but I will not be listing N'Sync's Bye Bye Bye anytime soon. They can sing Die Die Die for all I care.

    Sex, Drugs, Drums and Bass

Yes I know the title is a cheap rip-off of the 80's Sex, Drugs, Rock and Roll but what the heck. Yes I also know what I have said about people 'advertising' their lives on blogs to tell the world how cool they are, how much people love them or how sad and miserable their lives are.

On those notes, this blog will be a little different.
    1) Will it be a rip-off of other sites, emails, blogs etc? Hell yeah...I am not that creative a person anyway.
    2) Will it be about me, my glories and my boring west lafayette/manassas life? A little but only when something exciting happens.
    3) So what would this blog be about? Music. All kinds and style hopefully.

Here goes..this is my first playlist (Using this name for a while since I can't think of a better one). Basically I will try to make one of these every week with 10 songs which I think are worth listening to for that week. Nobody is paying me to have their songs on my list. At least not yet. If you have a song you would like me to check out. Just send me an email at reviewer@chiaxiang.com. No forwarded crap please. Also feel free to comment about list. One last thing, if I am breaking any laws let me know.
